Why did I choose chiropractic as my path to help the world? This is a question I get asked often, and it always brings me back to the essence of why I do what I do. At its core, chiropractic is about more than just bones and joints, and it goes beyond simply addressing pain or symptoms. Chiropractic is about unlocking the body’s potential to function at its highest level, allowing us to experience life in its fullest expression.
We are triune beings—body, mind, and spirit (or soul, or heart, however you choose to refer to it). Our body is the home of our existence, the vessel through which all things happen. It’s where we experience life, the good and the bad, the highs and the lows. Within each of us, the kingdom of heaven resides. And in honoring this triune nature, we take care of each part to create harmony and balance in our lives.
One of the things that sets chiropractic apart is our focus on the nervous system. Your nervous system controls and regulates every function of your body. It’s the bridge between the physical and the spiritual. As chiropractors, we focus on the spine because it houses the central nervous system, that network of communication that controls everything. When the nervous system functions optimally, it allows you to experience life in the most profound way possible. This is what chiropractic is all about—helping your body function at its best so you can live at your fullest potential.
The purpose of existence? That’s a question many people grapple with, and the answer may be as unique as the individual asking. For me, one answer is this: to experience all that life has to offer, to embrace the joys, the challenges, and everything in between. And how do we do that? By honoring and caring for our triune being—our body, mind, and spirit.
So, what can you do with this understanding? Begin with small, intentional acts each day. Take care of your body. Move it, nourish it, and let it express its potential. Chiropractic care is one tool in this process; it doesn’t do everything but it makes everything else more effective. Your workouts, your sleep, your energy—everything improves when your body is free to function without interference.
Next, take care of your mind. In today’s world, we often allow all sorts of distractions, stresses, and negative influences to take root in our thoughts. Be intentional about what you let in, just as you would with your home. Nurture your mind, challenge it, and give it the space to grow.
And finally, take time each day to care for your spirit, your heart, your soul. This is where love resides. Through love, we come to know all that we need to know, and we experience what we are meant to experience. When we connect with love, we connect with the divine. We become one with God.
So why chiropractic? Because it gives me a way to help you free your body, to help you connect mind, body, and spirit, and to help you experience life to its fullest. This is my purpose, my passion, and my way to give back to the world.
